As a photographer, I record memories for a living. I spend countless hours chasing that picture, that smile, that moment...for other families. Sadly, I've found myself forgetting to capture our memories. This blog is my way of reminding myself (and others) that days and years go by quickly. Here's my attempt to not miss a moment of it!

Santa!
This is always one of my favorite days of the year. I remember when the boys were little, taking them to see Santa and watching their faces light up. After the first year or two, even Will loved it. Hunter always did. They would sit there quietly, taking in the white beard, the glasses and the Ho Ho Ho that always bounced them up and down. Hunter would list a million things that he wanted to find under the tree. He'd follow up with questions about the North Pole, the reindeer and Mrs. Claus. Will would whisper what he wanted in Santa's ear (normally a car of some sort), stare at the beard for a minute then hop down. I loved it.
Today was almost as good. Nothing beats seeing a little ones face light up when they get to see Santa. The lists have gotten a little more expensive (a four year old wanted an Ipod Touch!), but the kids are always the same. Thrilled to see the big guy, anxious to list their wants and they always say yes when asked if they've been good this year. Really, who's going to say no to that? And while all the kids were cute and funny, there is always one or two that remind you of the true meaning of Christmas. We saw a few of them today too. That's what I'll remember most.
