I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas (not really!)

As Christmas rapidly approaches, I find myself humming carols throughout the day.  You can't go anywhere without hearing them.  And with the season starting earlier and earlier, I've been listening to Rudolph and Frosty since August (ok, maybe not August.  But definitely since September!)  I digress.  Anyway, the song that always seems to stick with me is White Christmas.  Not because the tune is catchy, but because I would much prefer a warm, sunny Santa day.  You can take the girl out of the south, but you can't take the south of out the girl.  While the snow is beautiful, it's a short time before I have to drive in it, it turns dirty, the yard become a swamp...well, you can tell I don't like it.  So when I saw our local meteorologist publish an article today detailing our chances of Santa bringing the white stuff with him, I jumped all over it.  Thankfully, his research proves promising.  I'll summarize...
The chances of any snow falling on Christmas Day = 22.4%.  Chances of measurable snow falling on Christmas Day (an inch or more) = 12.5%.   Translated...there is an 87.5% chance that we won't see more than a dusting on the big day.  Yipppeee!   I'm off to work on the lyrics for my new carol (sure to be a classic!) titled "I'm Dreaming of a Warm, Balmy, Beachy Christmas".
