As a photographer, I record memories for a living. I spend countless hours chasing that picture, that smile, that moment...for other families. Sadly, I've found myself forgetting to capture our memories. This blog is my way of reminding myself (and others) that days and years go by quickly. Here's my attempt to not miss a moment of it!

Good Night Moon
It has been said that all good things must come to an end. I'm sure the originator of the quote was trying to comfort a child after a day at the fair. Or maybe it was a husband trying to comfort his wife after returning from vacation. But truthfully, it's a useless saying. Is there really any comfort in it? Why must good things come to an end? If it's really good, why can't it last forever?
That was my thought today when MLM (formally known as CincyMoms) was permanently taken offline. It's the end of an era for us. When you work from home, "virtual" friends are an amazing experience. Twenty four hours a day, seven days a week, I could log in and find a friend with an answer to a question, moral support or someone to just gab with. I met friends, colleagues and clients over the last four years. We've gotten homework help, professional referrals (did I mention I love our new plumber!) and the opportunity to meet some outstanding people. If it weren't for MLM, I wouldn't have seen Alaska through the eyes of a native. I wouldn't know the best over the counter medication for poison ivy. I would never have tried a nettie pot or found some of our favorite recipes (and I still have lots to try!). And I certainly wouldn't have know what the online definition is of a train wreck.
I will miss each moment of it. But most of all, I will miss the community of woman that laughed together, cried together, supported one another and came together as one when anyone needed them. It was a pleasure and an honor to be one of the many wonderful people that made up CincyMoms.
So again I must ask....why do all good things have to come to an end?
