Such a bittersweet day. As always, the weather was beautiful and we got to spend most of the day on the lake. I have a nasty sunburn to prove it. But the morning started with Mom and Dads departure, signaling the end was near. By late afternoon, the boat was out of the water and the dock was cleared. After dinner, the refrigerator was cleaned out and the cars are now all loaded. A quick rain shower threatened our last evening on the deck, listening to the lake. Thankfully, it passed quickly. The boys have their souvenirs, I've collected my quartz and clay. Jeff and I are memorizing the sound of the lake so we can replay it in our minds on those cold, Ohio days. Abby will miss the boat. W will miss skiing. H will miss the jokes and the laughter. Jeff will miss the lake. Chris will miss the thrills. Jenny will miss the quiet. Mom, Dad, Jan and Gary will miss the relaxing days. I will miss seeing those I love most being so carefree and happy.
All good things must come to an end....but the memories will last a lifetime.
As a photographer, I record memories for a living. I spend countless hours chasing that picture, that smile, that moment...for other families. Sadly, I've found myself forgetting to capture our memories. This blog is my way of reminding myself (and others) that days and years go by quickly. Here's my attempt to not miss a moment of it!
