To the Moon

I've wanted to take a picture of the moon for some time.  Normally, I'm fast asleep when it reaches the perfect point in the sky to set up my tripod on the deck and shoot away.  Last night (or early this morning, however you choose to look at it) the moon was beautiful and I was still awake.  So out I went, seeking one crisp clear picture of the moon surrounded by darkness.  Here is my work.

The picture reminds me of the boys.  Quite a stretch, one would think.  But when the boys were little, we always played a game.  I'd start with I love you to the moon.  Then they would get creative.  I've been loved to the ends of the universe, the bottom of the ocean, the end of the driveway and "this much".  So when ever I see the moon hanging in the sky, I think of the boys and know that no matter where their lives take them, they'll always know that I love them to the moon and back again.
