My Wish for You

I remember being a child and begging to pull the wishbone.  With three of us, we had to take turns every year.  So some years, I was left without a wish.  Fortunately, that's where shooting stars, eye lashes and birthday candles came in handy.

As you can tell, we've been a little busy.  Jeff carefully carved out the wishbone on Thanksgiving, it's been sitting on the window sill ever since.  So this morning, when H found it on the craft room floor (thanks to Fancy), they decided to pull it before school.  They both made a wish and H walked away with the larger piece. Then they left for school.  Throughout the day, I've wondered what their wishes were.  What do you wish for as a 14 and 16 year old boy...do I even want to know?

I'll probably never know.  But I do know what I would wish for today.  My wish is for them to live the happiest of lives.  That they wake up every morning and go to bed every night knowing that they are the most loved people on the planet.  I'd wish for them that when they grow up, they fall in love with their best friend, have a home full of love and laughter and never take life to seriously.  It's too short for that.  I'd wish them the moon and the stars...and the courage to reach for both.  But mostly, I'd wish that they find their hearts calling and follow it until they make their own happiness.

They probably wished for gas money and a new video game :)
